67 million Americans are affected with high blood pressure and Vitamin D may be the solution. Millions of Americans may be able to reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke according to recent studies.
Vitamin D is naturally produced when the body is exposed to sunlight. Science has shown the deficiency’s have led to weakening of bones and teeth but recent findings suggest that insufficient levels of vitamin D also increase the risk of autoimmune diseases, type 2 diabetes and various forms of cancer. Lack of vitamin D also poses an issue for blood pressure and heart disease.
Studies presented at the 2012 European Society of Hypertension featured a 112 person study who were given a vitamin D supplement and placebo pill for 20 weeks. Of the 112 , 92 had low levels of vitamin D.
