Why Being Legally Blind Will Not Destroy Me

f you grew up in or around my hometown, I’m sure this story is familiar to you. For those who did not, I thought I would share this with you. For those who do not know, I am visually impaired. All I have ever wanted in life is a chance. I wanted a chance at acceptance and a chance to motivate others. Flashback to 1995.


I remember how scared I initially was when I decided to come out for football. There were times I wanted to play club soccer as a little kid, and no coach would ever give me a chance.
